Bright colors, but this is no joyful painting. We are hosted in an elegant lounge, a wide window overlooking midtown Manhattan, a young gentleman comfortably settled on a design sofa, an English Setter quietly seated just in front of him. A painting, representing a girl riding a Harley Davidson, hangs from the wall behind. Number one is painted on the race plate of the trendy bike, maybe it has meanings. Is she THE number one, has she gone away? On her background the Golden Gate Bridge means a totally different location for her. Plus, this bloody writing all over, a name, a cartoon’s character, a dog’s name, dripping. And blood is smeared also on the young gentleman’s face. He’s smoking, bad habit, he’s tense. You can bet, there’s a whole bloody story behind all this display. Please don’t ask, please leave. Streets down under, all their strife, all their noise, so much quieter than this room dripped in blood.
