Podvoisky was in the first St. Petersburg turmoil in 1905 and then all along the revolutionary years. A priest’s son, he played various roles, leading armed insurrections and various soviet military organizations. He was a journalist and an intellectual. He co-founded the Pravda newspaper and commissioned Sergei Eisenstein the film version of the storming of the Winter Palace that toppled Kerensky’s provisional government. He was a handsome man, with an interesting face . His career proved very ideological but short termed. His biographic contradictions granted this flamboyant portrait, a mix of futurist and expressionist memories in a heavily doped up hip-hop technique.
